In October, 2007 the recordings of the Brazilian voice of Microsoft to be integrated to Windows Vista were started. After a strict selective process that included the most important voice talents in Brazil, Ana Paula Couto, from Globo News was selected. The project was performed by the Microsoft Portugal team, managed by Miguel Sales and Daniela Braga, with the technical support of UFRJ.

The recordings were made in Rio de Janeiro, corrected and edited in real time at Produlz.com studios in São Paulo. There were more than 10000 sentences recorderd and edited in real time, in only 20 days, that will allow the software from Microsoft to have a human like voice, leaving behind the robot like voices, allowing three types of speech: Reading, biblical reading and dialogues. See the comments about the project in the oficial blog of Microsoft: Máquinas falantes.
